Welcome

Introduction & Vision Statement

We are committed to promoting and delivering the personal health benefits of therapeutic massage to the Auckland community, in a safe, professional environment. To achieve that goal, our therapists have trained at the NZ College of Massage, hold Diploma level qualifications, and have more than 10 years experience.

Massage can be very beneficial in times of stress, helping to relieve tension in the body and revitalize the spirit, easing pain and bringing recovery after physical exertion. It can also be used as a preventative measure before partaking in sports to help avoid injury or cramps. Everyday tension from deep concentration, worries, work pressure, or the weight of decisions and responsibilities can affect the body, provoking muscular contraction and pain. Massaging the tight muscles not only eases muscular tension, it also eases mental tension, helping energy to again circulate throughout the body.

About Us

Lee McKay
Diploma of Body Therapies (Dip B.T.),
Diploma in Therapeutic Massage (Dip M.T.),
Certified Neuromuscular Therapist,
Remedial Massage Therapist member (MNZ)

In 1999 Lee completed the Diploma of Therapeutic Massage and the Diploma of Body Therapies at the New Zealand College of Massage. Further study followed for the Advanced Certificate in Clinical Neuromuscular Therapy as she saw that as a relevant and effective way to deal with pain, discomfort and reduced mobility often associated with soft tissue injury or overuse.

In the 10+ years she has been practicing Lee has developed skills that enable her to help people address issues such as headaches, migraines, neck and shoulder tension (often associated with computer work), tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow, lower back pain, sciatica and leg muscle tension.

“I gain a lot of satisfaction from helping people, both on a short and long term basis, to care for themselves and reduce or eliminate pain from their bodies. There are not many jobs where positive feedback is as immediate as having someone say “I feel so different from when I walked in here an hour ago”. Or to have a client, who initially sought help because they were experiencing 4-5 headaches a week, report back that they haven’t had any since their massage.”

In addition to her clinic work Lee also has long term experience with on-site massage, working with the elderly, and working with those with long-term health issues such as multiple sclerosis and stroke.

Lee is available Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Saturday as required. ph: 845-2074

Barbara Fleming
Diploma of Body Therapies (Sports and Therapeutic Massage)

After graduating from the New Zealand College of Massage in 2000 Barbara focussed on sports and therapeutic massage, working in several clinics and with a variety of sports teams (netball, hockey, rugby union and rugby league) at club, provincial and national levels. Her focus later expanded to include pregnancy massage which she enjoyed providing through a midwives practice. Her association with NZCM continues with her role as a tutor in their Certificate programme and with her personal goal of completing their new degree course.

“Being a massage therapist gives me the opportunity to make a difference to people’s state of health on a physical level, by relieving the muscle aches and tension they present with. It’s great seeing them leave happy and relaxed. It’s also very satisfying helping people gain knowledge and understanding of their health needs in a holistic sense and very heartening when they take this information on board and make changes in their lives.”

Barbara is available on Fridays.
Saturday as required. ph: 845-2074
